Edit Navigation

There are a few different types of navigation on your insurance website. Here, we'll walk you through the different types of navigation and how to edit each one.

IN THIS ARTICLE

Main Navigation

Your main navigation is the list of pages in your header. Here's an example of a main navigation:

To edit, add, or delete the pages which appear in the main navigation, log into your AgentMethods account and click on the Website tab. You'll automatically refresh to the Manage Pages tab.

This page will show you all of the individual content pages which comprise your website. The Sections box on the left are the top level of pages: the tabs which appear on your main navigation bar.

Add a Section

To add a section, click the black  Add Section box at the top right of the section area.

This will open a pop-up. Fill out the information for your new section, then click Save Section.

Want to hide a section from your main navigation? Toggle on Hide from Public Menu on the pop-up.

Edit or Delete a Section

To edit or delete a section that already exists, simply click the pencil or garbage icon to the right of the section title.

NOTE: When you delete a section, all of its contents will also be deleted! This means any sub-pages that exist within that section.

Move a Section

If you'd like to change the order of how your sections appear in the main navigation, use the box icon on the right of a section title to drag and drop the order of your sections.

Hide a Section

You may want to hide a section of your website from the public menu. To do this, start by clicking the pencil icon to the right of the section.

From the pop-up that appears, click the  Hide From Public Menu checkbox.

Then, click the green Save Section button to save your changes.

Edit Dropdown Navigation

Each section on your main navigation can house pages in a dropdown menu. For example, here is a dropdown menu on a live website.

Here is how that dropdown menu corresponds to individual sections and pages within the website builder.

Add a Page

To add a new page to a section, select one of the three options on the right side of the pages area.

Add a Blank Page

If you would like to build a page entirely from scratch, select this option. However, most of our clients prefer to add a page from the pre-existing content library.

Add Page From Library

Select this option to instantly add a page from AgentMethod's exhaustive content library. You can use the dropdown menu on the right side of the page to filter your options by topic.

To Preview a page, click the eye icon on the right side of a page title. To add a page to a section, click the plus icon.

Add a Page from Templates

If you'd like to customize a page significantly but don't want to build it from scratch, add a content, landing, or Quotit Epro page from templates.

Editing & Deleting Pages

To edit or delete a page that already exists, simply click the pencil or garbage icon to the right of the section title.

If you'd like to change the order of how your pages appear in the dropdown menu, use the box icon on the right of a page title to drag and drop the order of your pages.

Hide Dropdown Menu

If you'd like to hide the dropdown menus from your main navigation altogether, you can do so on the Site Settings page.

Click on Website on the left-side menu, and then select Site Settings:

Scroll down to the last section titled, Header and toggle the “Hide Dropdown Menu” on or off.

Edit Utility Navigation

Your Utility Navigation can be found at the top of your website. These navigation links are a smaller set separate from your main navigation menu, and just as your main navigation, stay consistently at the top of every page of your site. The default links are “Contact Us” and “Get A Quote”.

To edit your Utility Navigation, head to your Profile Personalization page. To access this page, start by clicking the user icon at the top right of your page.

A dropdown list will appear. Select Profile Personalization.

Scroll down to the Utility Navigation section

Here you can see each Navigation has two parts to edit, the  Link and the Label.

  • Link: This is where you want the link to go to. You can either select a page on your site from the drop down or enter a URL of an external web page that you’d like to link to.
  • Label: This is the text you’d like to show where the link is displayed.

Select where you would like the user to go by clicking on the drop-down arrow for the Link section:

Then, choose what you would like to call that link by typing it into the  Label section:

Repeat the same steps with any utility navigation links that you'd like to edit or add.

Once you are done making changes to your Utility Navigation, scroll all the way to the bottom of the page. Click the green  Save button to save your changes.
