How To Use Your Site Settings Page

Your Site Settings section of your website is the place where you can customize the following:

  • Lead Notification
  • Add Header and Footer Code
  • Redirect Links
  • Create a Custom Robots File

Lead Notification

This is where you can determine how and where you are notified when someone fills out a form on your website.

Secure Form Fields-  By default, AgentMethods will email and optionally text you all information submitted via your quote forms. Because quote forms often collect sensitive customer information, including personally identifiable information ("PII") and personal health information ("PHI"), it is important to take precautions to secure this information so that a lost laptop or phone does not put customer information at risk. Additionally, email by default is sent "unsecured".

You can opt to not have information submitted via your quote forms sent to you, and instead receive an email or text message notifying you of the new lead, with a link to log in and retrieve the information.

To globally secure all of your forms on your website, visit your 'site settings' page. At the top you will see an option to "Secure Form Fields". Turning this on and saving the page will automatically secure every form on your site.

Email Leads to- You can change what email address receives leads and you can add email addresses to receive leads

Send Text Messages- You can add a mobile number where leads will be texted.

Make sure to click on the "Save Site Settings" button at the bottom of the page if you make any changes.

Header and Footer Code

This is where you can add snippets of code to the header HTML or footer HTML of your website for custom styling or tracking purposes.

You will need to worry about this section unless you are adding Google Analytics to your site. Google Analytics is a free tool that lets you keep track of who is coming to your site, how they found you, and what they are doing. For more information on setting up Google Analytics see our Setting Up Google Analytics instruction page.

Make sure to click on the "Save Site Settings" button at the bottom of the page if you make any changes.

Redirected Links

This will be handled by AgentMethods during the onboarding process and it is only relevant if you have an old website with the same domain name.  The AgentMethods support team will create redirects (from your old website pages) on the AgentMethods platform that tell Google where to find the new versions of the pages. This will ensure the URLs from your old website will match a page on your new AgentMethods site.

Make sure to click on the "Save Site Settings" button at the bottom of the page if you make any changes.

Custom Robots File

A Robots.txt file instructs web robots (such as search engine crawlers) how to crawl the pages on your website. You use it to tell web crawling software what parts of your website to crawl or not to crawl. You can use it to block a page, a subdirectory, or your entire site. In general, you will want search engines to index your website, but for more information see our page on Adding a Robots.txt File to Customize How Your Site is Crawled by Search Engines.

Make sure to click on the "Save Site Settings" button at the bottom of the page if you make any changes.
