What is HTTPS and Why Do I Need It?

HTTPS is more secure version of your website. It better protects your and your client's data, as well as helps your website rank higher in search engine results.

There are a number of important benefits to HTTPS:

  •  Keeping your website safe. Switching to HTTPS prevents hackers from being able to “see” the information your clients and prospects enter on your website.
  • Ranking higher on Google. When someone uses Google search, Google gives preference to secure websites over non-secure ones. That means your site will rank higher than comparable non-secure insurance sites.
  • Improving client trust. Clients who use your website want to know that you take their personal information seriously. Switching to HTTPS shows them their confidential information is safe with you.
  • Appearing as more professional. Top businesses are switching to HTTPS because of the added security. It’s quickly becoming the new industry standard for professional websites.

Don’t worry, switching to HTTPS doesn’t mean you’ll have to change your web address or domain name, and any links to your site will still work. There are no drawbacks to making the switch!

How to add HTTPS to Your Site

Great news! As soon as your site is published and starts to receive traffic, we will automatically configure your site with HTTPS and SSL. There is no need to make additional configuration changes.

The process generally takes a few minutes, so if you initially see your site working but not secured, come back in about 30 minutes and check again. You'll know it's working when you see "https:" in from of your website domain.

NOTE: While we are setting up your site we use a 'staging' URL. This URL is not secured with SSL.
