What to Include in Your Navigation
You’ll want to include the insurance products and services that are most relevant to your business and your audience. Here are some common examples:
- Medicare Plans
- Life Insurance
- Dental or Vision
- Health Insurance
- Final Expense
- Retirement Planning
- About Us
- Events
- Additional Coverages
These pages help visitors quickly understand who you are, what you offer, and how to get in touch.
Navigation Best Practices
Keep It to One Line
To maintain a clean and professional look, your main menu should fit on one line—especially on desktop. When it wraps to a second line, it can look cluttered and harder to follow.
As a general rule:
- Include no more than 6 or 7 sections, not including “Home”
- The exact number depends on the length of each section title
Combining Topics
To help stay within that limit, consider grouping related products under a single section. This keeps your navigation focused while still allowing visitors to explore all that you offer.
Examples:
- Final Expense can go under Life Insurance
- Dental, Cancer, Disability, or Hospital Indemnity can be grouped into a section like Additional Coverages or Supplemental Plans
- If you offer several smaller or niche products, a section like Other Plans or More Options might work well
A Quick Tip
Your navigation is one of the first things visitors see when they arrive on your website. A clear and organized menu helps guide visitors to the most important information on your site.
