New agent site here with little experience with the SEO parts. my website is www.acti-i.com (check it out) I am having trouble getting support from the builder to update, add, and subtract content. It is a joomla based platform. There is so much that I need to do for optimization, but realistically where is the first place I need to start? Please help!

    Hi Phillip,

Obviously, I'm a little biased, but it's hard to optimize your site if you don't have access to it, need to know HTML or programming, or have to pay somebody else to do it. Take a look at our website packages at www.agentmethods.com - there's a good chance you can set up a new site with us for less than you'll have to pay your developer to update your current site.

That said, after a quick glance at your site, it doesn't look like it's been optimized at all. Go through the steps in the ebook to figure out what keywords you want to target, and then make sure you put them in the appropriate places (page titles, headers, content, links, etc.).

    A few other tips:

    • You'll also want to get your keywords in the filenames and/or URLs. Your current filenames are things like "index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=119&Itemid=172", when they should be something like "affordable-georgia-dental-insurance".
    • Make sure your site generates or has a sitemap.xml so search engine crawlers know how to index your site
    • Get some links to your site. The ebook has several strategies to help with this.
    • Put your contact information (and if possible, a picture) on your homepage. "ACTI-I" doesn't mean much to somebody not familiar with you, so you need to gain their trust by showing that there's a REAL person/business they can easily contact if they need to.

    Hope this helps!
